AIDGLOBAL in Gudogudo Island, Mozambique

At the end of August, AIDGLOBAL delivered school material to the students of EP1 in Gudogudo.
It was by boat that, on the afternoon of 29 August, t-shirts and school supplies arrived at EP1 Gudogudo, in Maniquinique, by the hand of Castigo Tchume, coordinator of the AIDGLOBAL delegation in Mozambique, and two missionaries of the Good News, Bernardo and Ana Jorge, who were visiting the parish of Chibuto.

Located on an island only accessible by boat, EP1 in Gudogudo receives 115 pupils every day, of which 90 will be able, from now on, to benefit from the school materials delivered under this action. All of it will be kept in the respective classrooms, so that the students can use it in their daily educational and creative activities, in order to feel encouraged and motivated to actively participate in class.

The material delivered is the result of donations from entities and individuals, namely from BNP Paribas’ employees and students from a 3rd cycle class of Padre José Rota Basic School, in Forte da Casa, and was organised in bags, donated by the PT Foundation, by volunteer Ana Teresa Santos who participated in June in the 3rd edition of the “Reading Animation” activities in Mozambique, supported by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation.

Despite all the educational, environmental and economic difficulties that Mozambique faces, it is always possible to adopt and demonstrate small gestures of solidarity, receiving in return one of the most valuable rewards: the smile of a child.
