5th Transnational Project Meeting in Lisbon

The fifth and final International Coordination Meeting of the "(e)mission (im)possible" project was held in Lisbon on 6th and 7th June at the premises of the  Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IPDJ, I.P.), where AIDGLOBAL is based.
AIDGLOBAL organized and hosted the meeting, which was attended by 9 representatives of the 6 partner organizations, namely the project promoter – A Sud – Ecologia e Cooperazione ONLUS (Itália) – and the other consortium partners from Italy – Iroko – Desarrollo Forestal Sostenible, Fundazione Ecossistemi e Un Ponte Per – and from Spain – Bosque Y Comunidad e Universidad de Cádiz.

The meeting was opened by AIDGLOBAL, which welcomed all the participants, followed by an icebreaker and the presentation of the programme and agenda that would mark these two days of activities.

The objectives of the session were to take stock of the course of the project, assess the results of the activities already carried out and plan the next steps for the last actions to be implemented, in particular the multiplier events, the webinars and the methodological framework on Climate Action in NGDOs, to be completed by the end of the year. They also included a discussion of the Exploration and Sustainability Action Plan (ESAP) and a review of the final administrative and financial management issues in view of the final report.

On the first day, some of the project's results were announced, namely the start of the 3rd edition of the free online course, which will initially be held via the Training For Change e-learning platform. Next, it was announced that the Toolkit, the manual and annexes on Climate Action are currently being translated into Portuguese and French and will soon be available on the project website and on the organizations' Websites.

After a productive morning's work, a convivial lunch was served and work resumed with the announcement of the next activities to take place in the last four months of 2024.

Two more Multiplier Events are planned: in September in Brussels, Belgium, organized by UN Ponte Per, and in October in Cádiz, Spain, organized by the Universidad de Cádiz, which will be the last of six to be held as part of the "(e)mission (im)possible" project. Four webinars have been scheduled, in locations yet to be defined, to support networking and promote the results of the project, between October and November.

On the second and final day of the Transnational Project Meeting (TPM), the Methodological Framework for Climate Action in NGDOs was discussed, with a view to developing climate neutrality skills among CD&H representatives, IES academics and some NGDOs from outside the partnership. This will lead to the replication of the project's training scheme, with the aim of multiplying the impact on current and future professionals. The Framework is scheduled to be released in September, October and November.

The partner organizations discussed issues related to the Exploration and Sustainability Action Plan. These included: replicating the actions implemented, strategies for increasing the effectiveness and ensuring the sustainability of the results and facilitating their access to others, expanding the project's reach through different networks, identifying key stakeholders and target groups with an assessment of benefits, deciding on the maintenance of the project's Website and social networks after completion, and considering the use of available resources for political influence.

The importance of communicating through the digital media available to the partner organizations was reinforced, with regard to the activities that are yet to come – multiplier events and webinars.

In the end, the possibility of implementing and monitoring the project in terms of its financial and administrative management was analysed.

During the meeting, there was an opportunity for a convivial dinner and to get to know the best that the city of Lisbon has to offer those who visit it, enjoying an authentic capital, where old habits and centuries-old history intersect with cultural animation and technological innovation. The partner organizations thus returned to their countries of origin very satisfied.

The meeting is part of the European project "(e)mission (im)possible", co-financed by the European Union's Erasmus + Programme.
