JUJU's Tchova, a library on wheels designed in Mozambique to make it easier for children to access books, is on display during the Lisbon Book Fair, in the LeYa Publishing Group Square.
During the weekend, the JUJU Tchova accompanies the JUJU Ant activities, scheduled for every Saturday and Sunday at 11.30am in the LeYa Square. For the rest of the week, this mobile library inspired by the Bibliotchova, a model developed by AIDGLOBAL in partnership with UNESCO, remains on display in Praça LeYa as a way of promoting the JUJU Ant Movement.
Formiga JUJU's participation in the 83rd Lisbon Book Fair is organized in conjunction with the Portuguese NGDO AIDGLOBAL, the Movement's representative in Portugal, and has the support of the publisher LeYa, which has included the reading of the story “A Formiga JUJU na Cidade das Papaias” in its children's programme.
Founded in 2012, the JUJU Ant Movement's mission is to awaken children's imaginations through widespread access to books and reading, so that they can become the creators of their own stories. To date, the Movement has published two children's stories, “A Formiga JUJU na Cidade das Papaias” and “A Formiga JUJU e o Sapo Karibu”, the production of which was made possible through the PPL crowdfunding platform.
In Portugal, the JUJU Ant lends its voice to the promotion of values such as solidarity, diversity, creativity, unity, inclusion, participation, environmental protection and citizenship, values that AIDGLOBAL has been working on through its Global Citizenship Education projects.
To make this Tchova a reality in Portugal, AIDGLOBAL had the support of:
Arrudabate - Centro de Abate de Viaturas e Venda de Peças Usadas Mr. Adelino Lopes dos Santos - Carpentry, kitchen furniture and closets Marbilminios Unipessoal, Lda.
