On November 11th, the last Exchange of the 2022 school year took place at Telheiro do Bairro 25 de Junho U2. It brought together the 21 Animators/Educators in Movement of the Community Schools of Chaimite, Chiconelane, Bairro 25 de Junho, Maivene and Malehice, district of Chibuto, Mozambique. The meeting was constituted as a formative session of sharing experiences and joint reflections on the activities carried out with the children, during the school year that now comes to an end.
This initiative, promoted by AIDGLOBAL, was promoted by the coordinator of the project “Educadores em Movimento – Uma Educação Itinerante para a Primeira Infância”, Susana Damasceno, by the Early Childhood Educator, Ledieta Bombe, and was attended by the writer, actor, director and playwright, Venâncio Calisto, who promoted a Dramatic Expression workshop.
In this Exchange, two very significant moments stood out.
In the first part, the Animators/Educators on the Move were given the opportunity to share how the last months of work with the children took place, in the 5 Little Schools, to identify the improvements that were being implemented during this period and also to point out the difficulties that remain, even though the school year is coming to an end. Several aspects related to the organization of the next school year, which will start on 02/06/2023, were addressed.
The second moment won’t be forgotten by the Animators/Educators in Motion. Not only because they had the opportunity to participate in the workshop on Dramatic Expression, enabling them to explore a book and approach it in a more dynamic way, but also because they could dramatize one of the bilingual stories elaborated within the scope of the project – “ O Artesão e os Macacos Malabaristas” — and whose author is the writer Venâncio Calisto himself. Together, the props were also created, so that the Animators/ Educators in Motion can streamline it with their children. There was also room to give guidance on the continuity of the good use of pedagogical resources, namely Libliotchova, an itinerant library, and to recall the importance of supporting the members of the School Community Management Council in receiving the amounts related to the payment of tuition by the guardians of the more than 200 children who attend the 5 Little Schools, created during the 2022 school year.
At the end of the Exchange, an evaluation of this working day was made and, in general, the participants thanked the availability and reported having acquired new skills that motivates them to continue their work. Moreover, it gives them more security in conducting the activities they implement in their Little Schools.
