AIDGLOBAL presents “Youth in Politics” at the 16th ENAJ

The Organization shared the study-diagnosis carried out within the scope of the project

On the 1st of June, AIDGLOBAL attended the Associativism and Youth Summit “A Strategic Plan for Young People in Local Power” at the Estoril Conference Center, organized by the National Federation of the Youth Associations (FNAJ). In addition, on the 2nd and 3rd of June, the Organization participated in the 16th National Encounter of the Youth Associations (ENAJ), organized by the FNAJ in the same venue.

During the Summit, AIDGLOBAL shared the “Youth in Politics: Participate for Global Citizenship” project as well as the conclusions and recommendations of the study-diagnosis “Global Citizenship Education and the Youth Wings of Political Parties: the case study of the Loures municipality”, elaborated by researcher Joana Branco Lopes.

The study is based on the premise that there is a low engagement level of Portuguese citizens in Development issues, which the lack of specific actions can partly verify, and initiatives carried out by political parties and their youth wings. The study also showcases the need for intervention in Development Education.

During ENAJ, AIDGLOBAL also shared the 2nd edition of the Training Cycle, “Youth in Politics: debate for action”, which will take place at ISCTE-IUL on the 23rd and 30th of June on the 7th of July.

“Youth in Politics: Participate for Global Citizenship” is co-financed by Camões – Cooperation and Language Institute, I.P. and partners with the International Studies Center of the ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute, the Portuguese Institute of Recreation, Sports and Youth (IPDJ), The Youth National Council (CNJ) and the National Federation of the Youth Associations (FNAJ).
