Iniciativa reuniu jovens ativistas de nove países
AIDGLOBAL was invited to participate in the “Youth work at the local level for community empowerment” conference held from the 2nd until the 6th of May, 2018, at the Portuguese Institute of Sport, Recreation and Youth in Lisbon.
The meeting brought together activists from; Sweden, Finland, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Cape Verde, São Tomé and Principe, Guinea-Bissau and Mozambique. It marked the conclusion of the “CONNECT: Empowerment for the political and civic participation of young migrants” project, which highlights the importance of the inclusion, and participation of young migrants in the development of the community.
“Walking together without borders” was the theme of the presentation AIDGLOBAL made at the event, within the framework of the “Youth in Politics: Participating for Global Citizenship” project, which focuses on the civic and political participation of the migrants in Portugal. Voting restrictions of many migrants, and the primary forms of civic participation, were discussed.
“Youth in Politics: Participating for Global Citizenship” is partly funded by Camões – Cooperation and Language Institute and has as its partners the International Studies Center of the ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute; the Portuguese Institute of Sport, Recreation and Youth; the Youth National Council and the Youth Association National Federation.
