The ceremony took place at the Círculo Eça de Queiroz, in Lisbon, on the occasion of the 5th Centenary of the Birth of Infanta D. Maria de Portugal (1521-1577), Patron of the Femina Prize.
On October 23, 2021, at 8:30 pm, AIDGLOBAL – Acção e Integração para o Desenvolvimento Global (Action and Integration for Global Development) was present at the dinner and at the awarding ceremony of the Femina 2021 Award – Remarkable Women, which took place at the Círculo Eça de Queiroz, in Lisbon .
Maria da Graça Carvalho, Carla Matos, Fátima Carneiro and Deana Barroqueiro were the four women honored in the context of the 5th Centenary of the Centenary of the Birth of Infanta D. Maria de Portugal (1521-1577).

The Femina Honor Award was presented to Graça Carvalho; the distinction for Merit in Plastic and Visual Arts was made to Carla Matos; Fátima Carneiro was distinguished for Merit in Sciences and Deana Barroqueiro was awarded the distinction for the Study and Dissemination of Culture, History and Sociedade de Matriz Portuguesa no Estrangeiro e na Lusofonia.
The Femina Prize, created in 2010, honors female personalities who have distinguished themselves in Portugal and in Lusophone Societies with Excellence and Distinction in Arts and Letters, Sciences, for relevant merits in Professional and Personal Excellence, and who have contributed to the prestige of Portugal and Lusofonia and for the Study and Dissemination of Culture, History and Society of the Portuguese Matrix abroad and in Lusofonia.
In 2017, the Ministry of Culture granted the Femina Prize the Status of Cultural Interest.
