Playground entertainment returns to B+S School in Porto Santo

On October 18, the Professor Dr. Francisco Freitas Branco Basic and Secondary School, Porto Santo, celebrated the beginning of recreational activities, for the 2021/2022 school year, in synergy with Eco-Schools. At this start, there was live music, through the participation of student Sofia Mendonça from the 12th year of the Professional Sociocultural Animator Course.

The activities, throughout the school year, will feature the presence of teacher-animators and the use of games and cooperative dynamics, with the aim of promoting behaviors of tolerance, cooperation, inclusion and citizenship.

This constitutes an opportunity for non-formal and informal education — linking various disciplines, knowledge and practices — implemented through games and, also, environmental education activities that involve the presence of farm animals. The dynamics will take place at intervals throughout the school year. Student participation is free.

The Action Plan “Da Escola para o Mundo – Agir, Incluir, Transformar” (From School to the World – Act, Include, Transform) is promoted by AIDGLOBAL, in partnership with Escola B+S in Porto Santo. It is part of the Active Citizens Fund (EEA Grants), managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation, through the Education for Citizenship project, implemented by the FGS and CEDH of the Catholic University of Portugal.
