Action aimed at non-teaching staff.
The training “Interpersonal Relations – Communicating for Citizenship”, aimed at non-teaching staff of the Basic and High School Prof. Doctor Francisco Freitas Branco, took place between March 22 and 24, 2021, in Porto Santo.
Communication (inclusive, assertive, …), interpersonal skills (empathy,…), motivation, conflict management, participation in school life, rights and duties, inclusion and citizenship were some of the topics discussed with the 14 professionals present.
During the 12 hours of training, some case studies related to issues that place young people in situations of vulnerability, such as bullying, drugs, depression and anxiety, were worked on, with warning signs and measures to be taken in the context of professional performance being shared.
This initiative, included in the School’s Training Plan and carried out through the institution’s Psychology and Guidance Service, was promoted in synergy with the Action Plan “From the School to the World – Acting, Including, Transforming”. In this sense, reflection was promoted on how one can contribute to the experience and promotion of Citizenship, in the playground and in the school as a whole.
This Action Plan is promoted by AIDGLOBAL, in partnership with Elementary and High School of Porto Santo. It is part of the Active Citizens Fund (EEA Grants), managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Bissaya Barreto Foundation, through the Education for Citizenship project, implemented by the Gonçalo da Silveira Foundation and the Catholic University’s Research Center for Human Development Portuguese.
