GVETS: An Interdisciplinary Program for Professional Training through Gamification

Partner meeting in Florence.

The 3rd coordination meeting for the GVETS project was held on the 14th and 15th of February. It was organized by Oxfam Italia to discuss the following steps to conclude and develop online modules concerning the gamification strategy. This strategy has to date, been produced by the entities participating in the project.

The meeting also provided an exchange of experiences and views on the program’s purpose, which includes training professionals who work with migrants and refugees to improve their professional skills and strengthen their role in protecting children. The program also hopes to provide them with the relevant resources to face societal challenges based on the innovative, pedagogical method of gamification, which uses a game as a tool. These playful resources will be duly credited under the European Credit System for Vocational Education and Training (ECVET).

Oxfam Italia hosted the six other partner organizations in Florence, including CSI from Cyprus, DDG from Lithuania, Iasi NGO from Greece, ITAINNOVA from Spain, Menedék from Hungary and AIDGLOBAL from Portugal.

The European Commission funds the GVETS through the Erasmus + program.
