There are already 36 establishments in Porto Santo with the “Porto Santo without Plastic in the Sea” Label

The first informal certification Seals, promoted under the “Porto Santo Without Marine Waste” project, were delivered on were delivered on 23 June 2021 to the committed restaurants, hotels and shops to adopting good practices and meeting a set of targets in terms of reducing potential marine waste.

The presentation of the informal certification Seal and the signing of the first letters of commitment, within the scope of the “Porto Santo Without Marine Waste” project was made on 23rd June 2021. About eight months later there are already 36 establishments involved in the reduction of potential marine rubbish, assuming as commitments the participation in marine waste collection campaigns, the provision of reusable containers for internal use, the collaboration in awareness and environmental education initiatives, among other actions that reflect a social and environmentally responsible posture.

The adhesion to this Seal can be done at any time. All companies interested in participating may request further information from the Porto Santo City Hall (Rubina Brito: rubinabrito@cm-portosanto.pt).

It also has the support of WWF Norway and the Secretariat for Environment, Natural Resources and Climate Change of the Regional Government of Madeira.
