The solidarity show celebrated AIDGLOBAL’s 12th anniversary
A packed theatre, on November 14, witnessed the power of music and solidarity combined during the event “O Fado Acontece”, presented by the actor André Gago, one of AIDGLOBAL’s founding members and by the journalist Fernanda Freitas. The event was held at the São Jorge Cinema, in the room Manoel de Oliveira and was attended by some of the biggest names in the national fado.
Nine interpreters took their voices and instruments to stage of the emblematic Lisbon cinema, namely, Ana Laíns, Beatriz, Cristiana Águas, Duarte, Joana Amendoeira, João Pestana Dias, Maja Milinkovic, Rodrigo Costa Félix and Silvana Peres, accompanied by the musicians Bernardo Viana, on the viola, Guilherme Banza, on Portuguese guitar, and João Penedo, on the bass guitar. This year, the special participation was held by Sebastião Antunes.
The solidarity gala that marked the 12th anniversary of the founding of the Organization was intended to contribute to the sustainability of its projects in Portugal and Mozambique for Quality Education.
Delta Cafés once again sponsored the 10th edition of “O Fado Acontece”. It also counted on the strategic partnership of the Lisbon City Council and EGEAC and the co-production of Cinema São Jorge and the Fado Museum. Support was provided by ARS Design, Ticketline, SPA Authors, Contrast Photography, CHS, Afrikaans Literatures, Lisbon Makeup School, Postalfree and the florist Cárvéra. Radio Amália and Portal Sapo were the media partners, and Antena 1 was the official radio.
