On April 16th, on the island of Porto Santo, a lunch gathering several cultures at the table will take place entitled “Flavors of a Family Easter”.
The meeting consists of a shared lunch between families living in Porto Santo and foreign students from the Escola Profissional de Hotelaria e Turismo da Madeira (Porto Santo branch) and/or recently arrived immigrant workers from Hotel Vila Baleira, with the purpose of promoting cultural diversity. The host families must hold a lunch-party, typical of their culture, as a form of welcome. The meeting must take place in the host family’s home.
Registration takes place between March 24th and April 07th, and will be confirmed until April 12th, by email or phone.
Participation is subject to confirmation, as it is dependent on there being a sufficient number of immigrant families or persons, in which case the families will be considered in the order of enrolment.

“Flavours of a Family Easter” is inspired by the project “Next Door Family EU”, created in the Czech Republic in 2004, which has been promoted in Portugal by the High Commission for Migrations.
The initiative is promoted by AIDGLOBAL, under the Action Plan “Da Escola para o Mundo – Agir, Incluir, Transformar” (From School to the World – Act, Include, Transform) (Active Citizens Fund, EEA Grants), in partnership with the Escola Básica e Secundária Professor Dr. Francisco Freitas Branco (School B+S Prof. Dr. Francisco de Freitas Branco, Porto Santo), Porto Santo, and is supported by the Hotel Vila Baleira Porto Santo and the Escola Profissional de Hotelaria e Turismo da Madeira.
