On May 8, AIDGLOBAL started the Schools Labs, an initiative integrated in the European project "Amitie Code - Capitalizing on Development" that aims to promote the education of the student community on themes related to Development, Human Rights and Migration.
To be held until the end of the school year, with the participation of 73 students, the action focuses on participatory activities, such as role playing, quizzes, debates and videos on social inequalities, refugee crisis, stereotypes and prejudices, among other subjects.
At the end of the initiative, the young participants are invited to develop an audiovisual work to be disseminated in social networks. The aim is to empower students as responsible and competent actors to intervene in an increasingly global world.
The School Labs arte targeted to students of the 3rd cycle, secondary education, CEF and vocational of the county of Loures. The educational institutions involved are Arco-Íris High School, EBI de Apelação School, Jose Afonso Secondary School and Luis de Sttau Monteiro School.
The activity is part of the "Amitie Code - Capitalizing on Development" project, funded by the European Commission, which in Portugal is promoted by the Municipality of Loures and implemented by AIDGLOBAL. This Education Development project involves six European countries (Germany, Italy, Latvia, Portugal, Spain and France), two regions (Emilia-Romagna and Andalusia) and eight cities (Bologna, Hamburg, Reggio Emilia, Riga, Loures, Lisbon, Toulouse and Seville).
