AIDGLOBAL is preparing to send a container to Mozambique

To date, more than 4,500 volumes of children's and young people's literature, dictionaries, technical, teaching and teacher support books have been collected.
As part of the “Passport to Reading” program, which aims to widen access to books and combat illiteracy in Mozambique, AIDGLOBAL is preparing to send a new container to equip school and municipal libraries in the districts of Chibuto and Chókwè, in Gaza Province, and the Provincial District Library, in northern Mozambique. In response to the shortages detected in the country, in June our organization began collecting books, school supplies, computers and equipment from its contacts and from companies with which it has established partnerships. This is the fourth container that AIDGLOBAL has sent to Portuguese-speaking countries since it was founded. Thanks to donations from individuals, institutions and companies, more than 4,500 volumes of children's and young people's literature, dictionaries, technical, educational and teacher support works have already been collected, as well as computers and various items of furniture. By the end of the year, AIDGLOBAL has set a new goal: to reach 10,000 copies in order to completely rehabilitate the Chókwè Municipal Library, which suffered heavy losses during the floods that hit southern Mozambique at the beginning of the year, and which was already supported by the Organization in 2008, with a donation of 2,200 books.
