AIDGLOBAL launches this July the documentary “Passport to Reading”, which aims to demonstrate the work of the Organization in the access to books and promotion of reading in Mozambique. The film will be launched on the communication channels of AIDGLOBAL, namely our official website and the respective pages of social networks (Youtube, Facebook and Twitter), through a teaser that refers to the full video.
The documentary is based on the action of AIDGLOBAL, in Mozambique, through the program “Passport for Reading” which, together with its partners, aims to expand access to books, through the creation, equipping and promotion of libraries and promoting reading animation activities. Between 2008 and 2016, 3 municipal libraries were equipped and 27 were created: 6 school libraries, 11 “Bibliotchovas” and 10 “Maletas da Leitura”.
The video contains images of all the libraries created and equipped, of the reading promotion activities developed, and also of the training of technicians and teachers. It also includes several testimonials, including the Manager of the AIDGLOBAL Delegation in Mozambique, Castigo Tchume, representatives of local entities, volunteers and teachers who, over the years, have participated in the Program.
AIDGLOBAL intends, with the dissemination of this documentary, not only to demonstrate how it fulfills its mission but also to thank all partners and supporters of its work in Mozambique and, above all, raise awareness among the general public for the difficulties of access to education and the fight against illiteracy.
