Taking advantage of the fact that the container sent last year by AIDGLOBAL to Mozambique carried not only books but also toys, shoes, clothing for children and adults, and school supplies (notebooks, backpacks, pencils, pens), the organisation had the opportunity to continue its good institutional relationship with the Reencontro Association, working with it to on 18 August.
The Reencontro Association is a Mozambican association that provides support to orphaned and vulnerable children, as well as other disadvantaged groups, such as widows and elderly women.
Since the goods collected by AIDGLOBAL were suited to the association's needs, a large amount of school supplies, clothing and shoes were delivered to Reencontro for distribution in its areas of influence. One of these areas is the Chimundo neighbourhood, where the Community Centre supported by AIDGLOBAL is located. Goods were also distributed to the Casa Madre Maria Clara da Invinha Youth Centre, SDSMAS (District Women's Health and Social Action Service) and the Chimundo Community Centre.
