The training on Education for Global Citizenship will take place between February and April and is aimed at staff and volunteers of Civil Society Organisations.
AIDGLOBAL and Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr (IMVF) are promoting a training on Education for Global Citizenship entitled “Global What?” within the project “Facilitating Global Learning” and as a way to celebrate the European Year for Development. This training will consist of 10 sessions held at the IMVF facilities as well as 40 hours of online tutorship.
Aimed at staff and volunteers of Civil Society Organisations, the sessions are aimed contributing to improving the quality of Education for Global Citizenship in non-formal education through capacity-building and a better understanding of theory and practice.
Module 1 will take place on 3 and 4 February and will focus on the concepts and theories of Education for Global Citizenship, in order to integrate the participants and familiarise them with the topic.
The 2nd module will be worked on 10 and 11 February and will focus on the principles and practices of non-formal education and the interaction with Education for Global Citizenship.
Between 3 and 5 March, Module 3 will take place with a more practical dimension in which small project proposals will be elaborated and activities of Education for Global Citizenship will be developed.
Finally, Module 4, which will take place on 21, 22 and 23 April, the results of the implementation of these small projects will be presented and the participants will reflect on the content and ideas presented during the previous sessions.
“Global What? – Formação em Educação para a Cidadania Global” is a part of the project “Facilitating Global Learning” which is financed by the European Commission and Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua and implemented by two Portuguese organisations (Instituto Marquês de Valle Flôr and AIDGLOBAL), three German organisations (Dachverband Entwicklungspolitik Baden-Württemberg [DEAB], Forum for international development + planning [finep] and Entwicklungspädagogisches Informationszentrum E-PiZ im Arbeitskreis Eine Welt Reutlingen e.V.) and one Romanian organisation (APSD-Agenda 21).
