Formiga Juju celebrates International Children’s Day at Colégio da Torre

Primary school students were taught about climate change through an adventure in the City of Papayas.

In celebration of International Children’s Day on 1 June, approximately 60 students between the ages of 6 and 8 from Colégio da Torre welcomed AIDGLOBAL and António Gouveia at 11:30AM to live the adventures of the short story “Ant Juju in the City of Papayas” and participate in the activity “Together with Juju for a better world”.
Formiga Juju arrived at Colégio da Torre dressed in capulana and bringing along with her the fragrance of the African continent, filled with important warnings and a strong will to create a Global Citizenship!
António Gouveia, storyteller in the group Contabandistas and AIDGLOBAL volunteer, was their guide for this journey through the African continent filled with adventures, obstacles and solutions to the issue of lack of water in the City of Papayas.
After the storytelling session, an activity took place in which the children were presented with images depicting global issues. They then had to present a solution through a drawing, thus stimulating their imagination and creativity.
AIDGLOBAL brought along Formiga Juju to play with these children and alert them to issues such as solidarity, diversity, creativity, union, social inclusion, participation, environmental protection and citizenship.
