Juju attends Loures Association Fest on 17 July

Peace and Friendship Pavilion was visited by children and adults who participated in activities related to global citizenship.

Formiga Juju was invited by the Loures Municipality to visit the Pavilhão Paz e Amizade (Peace and Friendship Pavilion) on 17 July at 7PM to share her first short story “A Formiga Juju na Cidade das Papaias” (“Ant Juju in the City of Papayas”) for the Festa do Associativismo de Loures (Loures Association Fest).
“When Juju wakes up, after washing her face, she always eats a delicious papaya. One day, however, she found her friend the papaya tree crying in despair because the rain had stopped coming and the city was left without any papayas. Juju embarks on a journey through the city and the forest to ask the sea what happened to the rain.”
The interactive storytelling session was followed by a painting exercise and the entire activity sought to promote environmental education, to encourage creativity through the arts and to bring the Mozambican culture closer to Portuguese children.
AIDGLOBAL later led the activity “Are you a Global Citizen?” for young people and adults who had to answer some questions about certain issues in different countries based on a giant world map. According to the number of right answers, they received points which gave them access to a certificate proving their status as a “Global Citizen”.
Loures Municipality and AIDGLOBAL provided wonderful cultural and recreational moments to little ones, their family and friends.
