Customer Service — Communication, Diversity and Inclusion in a Biosphere Reserve
The training “Customer Service — Communication, Diversity and Inclusion in a Biosphere Reserve” took place on 01/31 and 02/01, in the Training Room of the Public Administration of Porto Santo, in the Autonomous Region of Madeira.
The opening of the event was attended by Isabel Velosa, godmother of the project “Escola Comunitária para a Empregabilidade e o Voluntariado” and Joselina Melim, President of the Parish Council, partner entity of the same project.
During the training, topics as diverse as “Communication and Types of Language in a Global World”, “Professional Posture: Code of Values”, “Biosphere Reserve”, “Diversity” and “Inclusion” were explored. There was also an opportunity to present the testimony of Julieta Silva, Information and Service Technician at Porto Santo Airport and for the participation of Licínia Soares, manager of the Biosphere Reserve of the golden island.
It was two days with many sharing and learning, which were based on the realization of several participatory dynamics.
Technical Cutting and Sewing Course
The Cutting and Sewing Course, aimed at young people and/or adults willing to learn and/or improve their cutting and sewing techniques, began in February, full of good mood, mutual help and willingness to learn!
The facilitators, Ms Graça and Ms Maria da Luz, guided the participants always with a smile on their face and with the necessary patience to meet all requests.
Between learning to work with the sewing machine to deepen and improve techniques, there are many interests and desires to know more about this art. One of the graduates confided: “I always had the dream of taking the course, but I had never had the opportunity.”
This was only the first of several sessions of the course, which will take place throughout the months of March and April, at the Porto Santo Community Center, R.A.M.
“Biosphere Reserve: Valuing the past, living the present, projecting the future”
The training “Biosphere Reserve: valuing the past, living the present, projecting the future” had its debut on February 15, in the Public Administration Training Room of Porto Santo, under the project “Community School for Employability and Volunteering”.
It is aimed at individuals who are unemployed or with an interest in the theme. In addition to exploring what it is to be a Biosphere Reserve, its functions, objectives and strategic axes, the participants, in a very creative way, had the opportunity to simulate a Tourism Fair and carry out a field trip to the Cardina Museum, where the trainees were able to know the artifacts of the Porto-Santa past.
The action was promoted by AIDGLOBAL and the Municipality of Porto Santo, and was part of the project “Escola Comunitária para a Empregabilidade e o Voluntariado”, funded by the VINCI Program for Citizenship.
