Hotel Vila Baleira Porto Santo innovates in partnerships for Sustainable Development

For the last three years, the Vila Baleira Hotel has hosted the NGDO AIDGLOBAL - an association whose aim is to Act, Include and Develop through Education, promoting Global Citizenship - on its premises, providing an office and collaborating on projects and training initiatives on issues such as Sustainable Development.
Through its office in the hotel, AIDGLOBAL's action in Porto Santo has been raising awareness and mobilizing around 500 students, 40 teachers and 80 government professionals on issues such as human rights, interculturalism and environmental preservation.

Joining the "Porto Santo Sem Lixo Marinho" label and providing a workspace free of charge shows the hotel management's commitment to the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, with a focus on SDG 13 - Climate Action and SDG 5 - Quality Education.

The AIDGLOBAL office in Porto Santo is temporarily based in a room at the Farrobo School, with the collaboration of the Porto Santo Municipality.

According to AIDGLOBAL's Founder and Board President, Susana Damasceno, "it is the union of efforts and collaborative work between civil society, the state and companies, based on the common good, that makes it possible to develop efforts to promote human rights".

To continue this fruitful cooperation is the wish of the entities involved, for the sake of all the people of Porto Santo.
