Celebrating each year of AIDGLOBAL's work is an expression of gratitude for all that has been achieved, but it is also a moment to reflect on a future that we hope will be long, yet remains uncertain.
Today, dreaming means navigating a changing sea between what we aspire to, what we are allowed to achieve, and what we are actually able to make happen. The siren’s song is increasingly polarised, lacking harmony and moving at an ever-faster pace. The storms crossing the different seas of our lives challenge us not to let our dreams get lost in the passing days.
Thinking about the future alongside young people, affirming that Climate Justice is Gender Justice, and creating opportunities and spaces for debate on issues that foster conscious and active engagement in the pursuit of sustainability; bringing books to places where they are not available through the creation of libraries; welcoming children with open arms at the Chibuto Schools, places where they can Play, Learn and Grow; producing bilingual books, because inclusion begins with language. These are just some of the initiatives that give meaning to our work, and all are possible because we continue to believe that change happens through Education.
Throughout our journey, we have been supported by funders, donors, partners and supporters who, like us, believe in the transformative power of Education. We thank them for their vote of confidence.
Congratulations, AIDGLOBAL, and to everyone who makes it a place where achievements become reality!
