AIDGLOBAL will be promoting a series of training sessions in various schools in the Municipality of Loures, from October 15 to November 27, aimed at Secondary School teachers. The purpose is to raise awareness and update their knowledge on key topics such as Climate Justice, Gender Equality, Globalization, and Interdependencies. These sessions, aligned with the National Citizenship Education Strategy, aim to encourage the implementation of innovative pedagogical practices.
What will happen?
The training sessions, accredited as Short-Term Actions (6 hours) by the Loures Oriental Training Center, are part of the "ECOality — Youth and Local Authorities Together for Climate and Gender Justice!" project. Led by AIDGLOBAL’s technical team, these workshops provide a space to share knowledge on highly relevant topics, deepening the concepts of Development Education and Global Education. Special attention will be given to the KUVAS framework (Knowledge, Understanding, Values, Attitudes, and Skills) and practical examples of activities that can be applied in classrooms. AIDGLOBAL proposes the inclusion of global citizenship topics in school curricula, so that teachers and educators can encourage students to become conscious, critical, and engaged citizens.
Where and when?
The training sessions will take place on various dates and locations, specifically:
- Training 1: Sacavém Secondary School, on October 15 and 17;
- Training 2: Loures Secondary School, on October 28 and 30;
- Training 3: Location to be determined, in the Loures municipality, on November 4 and 7;
- Training 4: IPTrans, in Loures, on November 20 and 27.
Who is it for?
This training is intended for Secondary School teachers in the Loures Municipality, who will be better equipped to integrate these topics across subject curricula, enriching pedagogical practices and contributing to the development of young citizens who are more aware of global challenges.
Why participate?
With the urgency of Climate Change and the growing importance of Gender Equality, this is an opportunity for educators to update their knowledge and become agents of change within school communities. The impact of these topics goes beyond the classroom, influencing society as a whole, both now and in the future.
