The "Soldier's Backpack - From War for Peace" is now available online. This pedagogical resource was conceived as part of the project Educate to Cooperate: the Historical Route of the Lines of Torres and Global Citizenship.
This educational resource aims to promote Global Citizenship, focusing on topics such as war, poverty and social inequality in the Heritage of the Line of Torres Historic Route. It is a free-access working tool for teachers, educators and heritage professionals working with children and young people who wish to contribute to a more just, equitable and sustainable society.
With different activities in which participatory methods are highlighted, the "Soldier's Backpack" includes proposals to be developed in non-formal educational spaces and curricular articulation plans to be implemented in schools. It gets students involved in games, brainstorming, role-play, debates, contests and other activities, providing appropriate props and materials.
It is co-financed by Camões - Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I. P., with the support of the Fundação Montepio, the project "Educate to Cooperate: the Historic Route of the Lines of Torres and Global Citizenship" was promoted by AIDGLOBAL in partnership with the Municipalities of Arruda Vinhos, Loures, Mafra, Sobral de Monte Agraço, Torres Vedras and Vila Franca de Xira and with the Centro de Formação de Loures Oriental.
