In the week of August 14 to 18, the first week of training and skills strengthening actions of the Animators and “Educators on the Move” of the 5 Little Community Schools involved in the project “Educadores em Movimento – uma Educação Itinerante para a Primeira Infância – Phase 2” took place at the Vocational and Residential Center of Chibuto, Mozambique, as well as other private and Little Community Schools in the District of Chibuto.
The training activities were facilitated by Paula Silva, consultant and volunteer pedagogical supervisor of AIDGLOBAL, the managing entity of the project, with the support of Mariana Guiamba, trainer of the Institute for the Training of Preschool Teachers (IFPP) and Ledieta Bombe, Assistant Technician of Education at AIDGLOBAL. Throughout the five days, theoretical-practical activities were carried out aimed at themes and practices inherent to Early Childhood Education.
Regarding teaching methods and techniques, the following topics were worked on: dynamization of groups, exploration of Bibliotchova resources, approach to basic principles of Education for Citizenship, knowledge of the Environment, acquisition of elementary notions of Mathematics, didactics of narration and dramatization of stories and the use of Expressions — musical, dramatic, motor and plastic —, and it was emphasized that all activities with children have been and will continue to be developed in a bilingual and rural didactic context.
At the pedagogical level, experiences were discussed and shared between the Promoters and Educators, methods, means and constraints of team leadership and school organization, planning and planning of activities were worked on, and themes such as evoking affections and emotions, how to identify the educational needs of children and how the Educators of the various Schools existing in the District can work in a network were also explored.
AIDGLOBAL participated as promoter of the meeting and project manager, in partnership with the District Service of Youth Education and Technology of Chibuto (SDEJT) and the District Service of Health, Women and Social Action (SDSMAS).
In addition to the AIDGLOBAL techniques that streamlined the activities, there were Animators/ "Educators on the Move" from the 5 Little Community Schools of Malehice, Chiconelane, Chaimite, Maivene and Bairro 25 de Junho involved in the project, the Educators of the Nossa Senhora da Boa Nova Kindergarten, the Educators of the Irmã Isabel Amaro de Sã Children's Center, the Educators of Africa in Fire Association, the representatives of the Organization for the Development and Early Childhood Education, the Educators of the School of the Basic Education Development Unit and the Educators of the Abade Francisco Pfanner Kindergarten.
Between August 21 and 25, the second week of training will take place, under the theme "Training in New Instruments of Little Community Schools", with the actions being promoted by the Technicians of the District Service of Health, Women and Social Action (SDSMAS).
“Educadores em Movimento – uma Educação Itinerante para a Primeira Infância, Phase 2” has as main funder the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as promoter AIDGLOBAL, project manager, and as partners the District Service of Education, Youth and Technology of Chibuto (SDJET) and District Service of Health, Women and Social Action (SDSMAS) – entities that guarantee the articulation of the project with public policies.
