Meeting with the parents of the children who attend the 5 Little Community Schools of Chibuto

As part of the project “Educadores em Movimento: uma Educação Itinerante para a Primeira Infância – Fase 2” (Educators on the Move: an Itinerant Education for Early Childhood - Phase 2), meetings were held between the members of the AIDGLOBAL technical team and the Guardians of the children attending the Little Community Schools of the communities of Malehice, Maivene, Bairro 25 de Junho, Chiconelane and Chaimite, district of Chibuto, Gaza, with the presence of the members of the Community Management Council of each Little Community School.


On 29, 30, 31 August and 4 and 5 September, dates corresponding to the meetings in each of the 5 Little Community Schools, the Manager of the Delegation of AIDGLOBAL, Castigo Tchume, supported by the Project Technician, Jéssica Sitoe, addressed several topics. The mothers, fathers, family members and caregivers of the children and the Local Heads were informed about the exercise of the Little Community School, and the impact it has had on the lives of each child was debated.



The team members sought to sensitize the Guardians to the care of the children and their well-being, to make them aware of the importance of their participation in the meetings and to the fact that their monetary contributions are fundamental for better functioning of the activities. It also appealed to their willingness to cooperate in the construction works of the kitchens and ideas were exchanged on the organization of the children's graduation event as well as on the legalization of the Escolainha space, and the importance and need for communities to appropriate their Little Community School were put into equation, to guarantee its longevity.
 
Educadores em Movimento – uma Educação Itinerante para a Primeira Infância, Phase 2” has as main funder the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as promoter AIDGLOBAL, project manager, and as partners the District Service of Education, Youth and Technology of Chibuto (SDJET) and District Service of Health, Women and Social Action (SDSMAS) – entities that guarantee the articulation of the project with public policies.
