In the 5 Little Community Schools supported by AIDGLOBAL, in Mozambique, within the project “Educadores em Movimento – Uma Educação Itinerante pela Primeira Infância – Fase 2" (Educators on the Move – An Itinerant Education for Early Childhood - Phase 2), the closing of the school year and graduation of the older children in the Little Community Schools of Chiconelane (day 6), Maivene (day 7), Malehice (day 8), Chaimite (day 9) and Bairro 25 de Junho (day 10) were celebrated in the 2nd week of November.
The activities were held by the children, together with the Animators/"Educators on the Move" of each Little Community School, the AIDGLOBAL team of the Delegation in Chibuto and its President, Susana Damasceno.
In each Little Community School, a snack was prepared with the support of the entire community and the graduation of the children who will start Elementary School was celebrated in the next school year, and school materials were delivered to all the children who completed this educational stage. The Animators/"Educators on the Move" and the children provided the attendees with several performances, based on the learnings made during the 2023 school year. In Chiconelane, activities related to geometric and vocal shapes were carried out and a Xingomane dance was performed. 24 children graduated. In Maivene, dynamics were performed based on energy foods and mathematical calculations with the abacus. Nineteen children graduated. In Malehice, practices related to transport, the Rights of the Child, songs were sung and a play about the abduction of minors was performed. 31 children graduated. In Chaimite, activities on professions and hygiene were carried out and dances and songs were sung. 6 children graduated. In Bairro 25 de Junho, practices based on professions, vowels and means of transport were presented and a play on the abduction of minors was performed. Eighteen children graduated.
Several entities were present at the celebrations in the Little Community Schools, namely: in Chiconelane, the Head of the Locality, 3 members of the Community Management Council, the Neighborhood Secretary, some members of the Catholic Church and the Principal of the Primary School; in Maivene, the Head of the Post, the Head of the Locality, the representative of the Government of the District of Chibuto, the Technician of the District Service of Education, Youth and Technology (SDJET), the President and the Treasurer of the Community Management Council, the Community Leader and the Principal of the Primary School; in Malehice, the Head of the Post, the Head of the Locality Secretariat, the Principal of the Primary School, 3 members of the Community Management Council and the Representative of those in charge of Education; in Chaimite, the Head of the Secretariat, the Principal of the Primary School, 2 members of the Community Management Council, the Technician of SDJET, the Focal Point of the NGDOs of the Government of the District of Chibuto and the Technician of SDJET; in Bairro 25 de Junho, the Representative Administrator of the Administrative Post, the Secretary of the Community Management Council, the Representative of the Director of SDJET, the Focal Point of the NGDOs of the Government of the District of Chibuto and the SDJET Service Technician.
