Training in Financial Management of Little Community Schools

On April 3, the first Financial Management Training action took place, with the objective of monitoring, enabling and reinforcing, in the work context, the knowledge of the Community Management Councils on the operation and management of the Little Community Schools.

The first session took place between 8:30 am and 3 pm, at the Chiconelane Little Community School, whose dynamization was ensured by AIDGLOBAL's technical team – Jéssica Sitoe, Project Technician and Vasco Mabunda, Logistics Assistant – under the watchful eye of the project coordinator, Susana Damasceno.

The beneficiaries of this initiative were four members of the Community Management Council, four representatives of the Primary School of the 1st and 2nd Degrees of Chiconelane, a Technician of the District Service of Youth Education and Technology (SDEJT) and a Representative of the Animators/ “Educators on the Move” of the respective Little Community School.

The training began with the procedures to be followed for good Treasury and Accountability management. It was explained the importance of a good monitoring and control of cash flows, collection and recording of revenues that are generated, through the payment of the tuition fees of the Little Community Schools by those in charge of Education.

It was also mentioned the creation of a financial planning consisting of a forecast of revenues that result from payments made by those in charge of Education (monthly fees, snacks, gowns and water) and the costs that arise from the expenses with the bonuses of the Animators/ "Educators on the Move."

It was also emphasized the relevance of the organization and maintenance of administrative records for the proper functioning of the Little Community Schools, namely the organization of archives, inventories and the preparation of minutes.

There was also talk about organizational management capacity, with regard to human resources management, and the Internal/Operating Regulations of the Little Community School were updated, which describes the procedures and rules of action as well as the duties and rights of the educational community.

In the afternoon, the president of the board, Susana Damasceno, called for the need to strengthen communication and advocacy capacity, promoting a set of actions with the community where the Little Community School is implemented, for mothers, fathers, family members and caregivers of the children, in the meetings of those in charge of Education and in the Sessions of Parental Education.

Finally, those present had the opportunity to give their opinion, regarding the topics exposed, and having presented several suggestions, so that the operation of this Little Community School runs in the best possible way.

AIDGLOBAL proposes to continue its line of action in favor of linguistic, motor, musical and socio-affective education of children between 3-5 years old, preparing them for entry into Primary Education.

“Educadores em Movimento – uma Educação Itinerante para a Primeira Infância, Fase 2” has as its main funder the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, as promoter AIDGLOBAL, project manager, and as partners, the District Service of Youth, Education and Technology of Chibuto (SDJET) and District Service of Health, Women and Social Action (SDSMAS) – official Mozambican entities that guarantee the articulation of the project with public policies.
