The festivities, animated by the children together with the
Animadoras (
Educators in Motion) from each school and AIDGLOBAL's team at the Chibuto Delegation, celebrated the children's graduation with moments of joy, cultural performances, and the awarding of certificates to those advancing to Primary School next academic year. The
Animadoras and children offered various performances showcasing the learning achieved throughout 2024.
At
Maivene, the celebrations featured educational and cultural presentations, including activities based on the letter "L" and the dramatization of
"The Story of a Child Who Dreamed of Being a Firefighter". Ten children graduated. In
Bairro 25 de Junho U4, with support from the Church of the Nazarene and local authorities, activities focused on values such as respect for elders and community coexistence, culminating in the graduation of 26 children. At
Malehice, practices included learning about vowels, numbers, and geometric shapes, with 31 children graduating. In
Chiconelane, presentations centered on plant parts and vowels, and 29 children graduated. At Bairro 25 de Junho U2, the themes included professions, vowels, and the national flag, with 20 children graduating. In
Chaimite, activities highlighted vowels, numbers, and the dramatization of
"The Village of the Magical Cashew Trees", where nine children graduated.
Several entities graced the celebrations: At
Maivene: the Head of the Locality's Secretariat representing the Locality Chief, the Deputy Director of the Maivene Primary School (Grades 1 & 2), and Community School's Board members. At
Bairro 25 de Junho U4: the Head of the Administrative Post Headquarters, the Neighborhood Secretary, the Director of Bairro 25 de Junho U4 Primary School, a technician from SDSMAS, a technician from SDJET, and four members of the Community Management Council. At
Malehice: the Head of the Administrative Post, a representative of the Locality Chief, the Neighborhood Secretary, the Community Leader, the Directors of both the Primary and Secondary Schools of Malehice, two primary school teachers, several members of the Community Management Council, and a Representative of the Parents' Association. At
Chiconelane: a representative of the Locality Chief, the Neighborhood Secretary, the Community Leader, church members, a representative of the Director of Chiconelane Primary School (Grades 1 & 2), a teacher, and several members of the Community Management Council. At
Bairro 25 de Junho U2: a technician from the District Service for Education, Youth, and Technology (SDJET), the Director of Bairro 25 de Junho U2 Primary School, and three members of the Community Management Council. At
Chaimite: a technician from the District Service for Health, Women, and Social Action (SDSMAS), two technicians from the Provincial Directorate for Gender, Children, and Social Action, a teacher representing the Director of Chaimite Primary School (Grades 1 & 2), and members of the Community Management Council.
A Commitment to Early Childhood Education
These closing ceremonies were more than celebrations; they were moments of reflection and awareness-raising on the importance of Early Childhood Education. They encouraged new enrollments for 2025 and strengthened ties among communities,
Animadoras (
Educators on the Move), and local authorities.
With the support of AIDGLOBAL, in partnership with the District Service for Education, Youth, and Technology (SDJET) and the District Service for Health, Women, and Social Action (SDSMAS), the Community Schools reaffirm their commitment to Quality Education, ensuring a promising future for the children of Chibuto District.

Educators on the Move – An Itinerant Education for Early Childhood - Phase 2" project is primarily funded by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, with AIDGLOBAL as the promoter and project manager. It is implemented in partnership with the District Service for Education, Youth, and Technology (SDJET) and the District Service for Health, Women, and Social Action (SDSMAS), ensuring alignment with public policies.
